Back in June, when the Digital Dozen created paper designs, I tried my hand at painted a freehand quartrefoil pattern. I used a combination of red and white polish that time, and what turned out to be very large dotting tools. Back then I said I wanted to try it again, probably in black and white and with smaller dotting tools.
It turns out I didn't feel like doing it in black and white, but instead wanted to do it in blue and white, but I certainly did try it was smaller dotting tools.
I used the dotting tool set that I got from Picture Polish a while back. To do a design like this you really do need something that give you accurate set sized dots. I used the small ends of the #D2 and #D3 dotting tools for this. Compared to the red version, I got double the number of dots in.
I was so thrilled with how this looked in real life. If you didn't look too closely you would think that I had stamped it. Of course, close up nail photos do no favours, so in the photos you can see all the poorly aligned dots, but generally speaking, this is a very easy design for anyone to create.
