Ulta3 Autumn Winter Nail Colours 2014

Aussie girls, have you spotted the new Ulta3 Autumn/Winter nail colours yet?  I spotted them at my local chemist and snapped them all up, still at that same $2 price point.  I search the Ulta3 polish bin for a while looking for six bottles, as in the past Ulta3 has released collections in sets of six, but I could only find four colours I didn't have.  It was later that day when I saw the Ulta3 facebook post that only showed four shades that I knew I had found them all.

I've had these for nearly two weeks now, and finally was able to combine both a sunny afternoon with a spare 30 minutes to allow me to swatch these.

Blackberry tart - a dark burgundy plum jelly.  I wore two coats here with top coat, and as you can see the full sun does make it look a little patchy because of the jelly finish.  For normal everyday wear, two coats would be fine, but full sun macros can really bring out the sheerness of a polish and I really should have done three coats to compensate for that.

My macaroon - a very dark chocolately red creme.  Formula was nice. I did one thin and one thicker coat to achieve full opacity (on my index I did two thin coats and you can see it's a little sheer in spots).

Red Velvet - a bright cherry red crelly.  I did two coats and you can still see a very slight visible nail line.  Although it was slightly sheer it wasn't streaky or patchy at all.  Great formula and easy to apply.

Creme Brulee - a mid toned fleshy nude creme. My easy favourtie of the bunch. I'm going to need backups of this one. Fantastic formula and perfectly opaque at two easy coats. Nudes can be tricky match up to your skin tone, and what works for one person may not work for others. But for me, this one really works.  This is two coats with top coat.

If you are looking for Ulta3 polishes, you can use the stockist locator on the Ulta3 facebook page, although I can't really vouch for its accurately, especially given that the chemist I bought these from isn't even listed as a stockist! If you want specific polishes, make sure you use he drop down box to search for a limited edition collection.

You can also purchase Ulta3 online directly from the Heat Group, although I can't see this collection listed there.

  1. I'll have to keep an eye out for these! Creme Brulee looks promising as a good match for my skintone, and My Macaroon would be something new in my collection :D nice swatches! xx

  2. I need to find somewhere that stocks these again- my local supermarket had them for a while and then stopped :( Bugger. And omg I love the jelly! I am so wanting to do "pond" nail art, do you think it's sheer enough for jelly sangas?

    1. I think you would need to mix it with some clear polish to make it a little sheerer for a pond mani. The sun makes it look more sheers that it really is, but the jelly finish would thin out perfectly for a pond mani.

  4. I wish I could find "BlackBerry Tart" but we have no Ulta3's in the US, it's such a beautiful color.
