Today's installment comes to you from Love Thy Polish, created by the fabulous Em at Nails in the Desert, and people when she says 'desert' she means out in the middle of whoop whoop - red outback dust kinda desert. So these Aussie Indie polishes are really coming for all over Australia! Whoo hoo.
This new collection from Love Thy Polish is called Animation Celebration and it is based on cartoon movies and TV shows. I love a collection with a theme!
Go Planet! - a pale yet vivid blue crelly with red and green holo micro glitter and and red and green squares. Easy to apply and built to opacity in two thicker coats. Topped here with Seche Vite.
This polish is based on Captain Planet, who I actually have never even seen before googling this image.
He Lives in You - a purple leaning grey creme with orange, white and teal glitters. Easy to apply with a smooth formula. The glitters were nicely spaced and lay flat. This is three thin coats with Seche Vite.
Based on the lovable Rafiki from The Lion King. I didn't guess this one straight away, but it is one of my absolute favourite animated movies. Sing with me "Asante sana! Squash banana! We we nugu! Mi mi apana!"
Take Over the World - a creamy pale pink with red and white hexes. I used three coats here and found that the pink base built up nicely whist still allowing the red and white glitters to show very clearly.
When I first got these polishes I was able to instantly guess what cartoon
it was based on by the combination of the name, and the polish colour
and glitters, did you guess? It's Pinky and the Brain.
Space Ghost Reloaded - a white creme with a gentle mix of many different shapes, sizes and colours of glitter. The white base built to opacity nicely and was thin and smooth. The glitters spread out easily and the overall look is really appealing. This is three thin coats with Seche Vite.
Based on Space Ghost, who has apparently has made a couple of reappearances on TV since first airing,a although this is another fellow that I don't actually know.
The last polish I have to share with you isn't from the Animation Celebration collection, instead it's a limited edition shade that hasn't been released yet. It's called I Shit Glitter, and it's looks like, well, a sparkly turd!
I shit glitter has a beautiful chocolately brown base with microfine holographic glitter in it. It really reminds me of Nubar Jewel, but a richer chocolate brown shade. This was two coats with Seche Vite top coat.
The Animation Celebration collection goes on sale next Tuesday 2 July so make sure you keep up to date via the Love Thy Polish facebook site.
The fact that you don't know about Captain Planet, and therefore have never had the terrible theme song in your head, is oddly distressing to me :P
ReplyDeleteSpace Ghost Reloaded is super cute. I Shit Glitter had me giggling furiously.
How on earth have you not seen captain planet?!
ReplyDeleteBut they're some nice polishes - I loved Pinky and the Brain so I think I'll need to get me some of that one ;)
Go Planet! You should really YuoTube the theme song intro--classic childhood haha!
