Lynnderella - Love, Lace and Lilacs

Do you remember me telling you about my dark green franken that I called "Perfect green undies" which I wore under Lynnderella's Funny Money, Green of Hearts and I Can Afford It?  Have I told you yet that that polish and I are no longer on speaking terms!  That dirty hoe polish stained my lovely pinky coloured nails a horrible shade of yellow.  I didn't have stained nails at all, but after I took that polish off I was horrified.  I have a good basecoat on but I'm guessing my mix is just too pigmented!  It's really only the top half of my nails, and I've tried scrubbing the peroxide and baking powder but it hasn't made a difference.  Does anyone have whitening ideas that actually work??

I shared that story because you can see the yellow tinge to my nails in the shots of the very delicate and pretty Lynnderella Love, Lace and Lilacs.  Here I am wearing Nail Tek Foundation II base coat, two coats of Bourjois Rose Lounge (yes again, it's my go to sheer pink nude) and two coats of Love, Lace and Lilacs.  Rose Lounge on the base did a good job of hiding the yellow, but I can still see it.

I loved this look because it almost looked like it was LLL just on it's own, but Rose Lounge made it not look naked!

Love, Lace and Lilacs has various sized opaque white hexes and translucent white hexes, as well as opaque white bar glitter.  There is also a micro fine silver shimmer in this that is similar to the shimmer that is in Connect the Dots.

Taking inspiration from the polish name, I decided to wear this polish as a lace mani.

I started this mani with stamping a lace design across my nail.  Then I painted my index finger on both sides of the lace stamp with Love, Lace and Lilacs.  Then I did my middle finger on the bottom corner, and then as I twisted my hand around to do the top corner, I somehow painted the next finger.  Of course then I realised that I really loved just the half nail look, so I had to work out how to finish the design using some full lace and some half lace nails.  I totally loved this mani, I was so happy with the final look.  I can't believe how much like real lace this polish looks like.

  1. That lace mani is so pretty ande delicate! The polish transfered perfectly and you have it aligned just right each time, wow! I always run into issues trying to stamp perfectly across the nail, especially diagonally.

  3. This Lynnderella is really pretty. I had a hard time choosing between this and Snow Angel when I made up my wish list, but went with Snow Angel, because I had wanted it longer. I do think the bar glitter looks rather out of place in this one, though. Next time we get to submit wish lists, I'll have to put this on there.

    1. I think I prefer this over snow angel because of the opaque glitter, but really both of them are beautiful.

  4. Try buffing your nails! That does the trick when peroxide and lemon juice don't work. And make sure to ALWAYS wear base coat! Especially after you buff, because your nails will be more susceptible to stains.

    1. I'm really good making sure I always use a base coat, but I'm guessing my franken was just too pigmented. That's what I actually loved about it, that is was a one coater dark green. I made it using raw tints, so it must be just too strong. I've tried my first buff, and I think it looks a little lighter. Thanks

  5. Whitening toothpaste, if u paint your nails very regularly, they are gonna be a tad yellow always. Leaving them naked for a couple of weeks only with your nail treatments on, will do the job. I have not yet seen anyone that does paint their nails always and have white nails.

    1. Thanks Jossie, I've worn polish nearly every day for at least the last year, before that I had a break while pregnant, but my nails were pretty good and still pinky white. I haven't tried the whitening toothpaste, so I will give that a shot too!

    1. Thanks Veronica for the additional endorsement of the buffing method, I've already tried my first buff and it looks a bit better I think.

  8. buff them. I got stained real bad when i didnt wear a base w/ china glaze blue iguana. so i used soft touch sand turtle (purple) whenever I got bored at school and it was gone within a day. so i would say about 2 days to 5-7 days.

  9. Coat you nail with cuticle remover and leave on for 1 minute. Then scrub with a nail brush. Repeat on the other fingers.

    1. Thanks for this idea, I did this just now. Applied Orly Cutique, waited, scrubbed then buffed a little. I think I see an improvement. I will keep up this routine and see how it goes.

  12. Oh I love the stamping! I've heard whitening tooth paste can take some of the yellow out, but I haven't tried it myself.
