G'day everyone.
I'm only sharing this polish with you today so that you don't do the same! Save your precious colour morphing powders and multichrome polishes, cause this one is a fair balls up!
Because I was able to create such an awesome polish when I mixed spectraflair with Ozotic 505, I wondered if I could create something as equally awesome by adding some colour morphing powder. Buzzzzz Wrong!
Ozotic 505 has an turquoise green base that shifts to purple. I chose to add the Gold to Green powder (cause that is all I actually have in stock at the moment) I hoped it would still have the turquoise base, but with little golden sparkles over the top, then on the shift it would turn purple with little green sparkles over the top.
Maybe I added way to much gold/green powder or maybe the two shifting colours just clashed? I dunno, but either way it's an EPIC FAIL.
See, you can't really see the turquoise base anymore.
It still shifts to purple, sort of.
But the purple shift is interspersed with green flecks.
Up close like the last picture, it looks kinda ok, but most of the time it just looked BLAH!
Luckly I only mixed up half a 5 ml bottle, so only about 2.5ml. And at least Ozotic 505 is a polish I have plenty of, and easy access to.
Are you kidding me!!!! I want to make this, I like it....*wonders about other multichromes & pigments*
ReplyDeleteWhere's the total fail?? ;) I am itching to create now but will have to wait for a volunteer to visit and do the mixing for me :(
ReplyDeleteIt is not a fail. I love the multicolor shimmer.
ReplyDeleteWhat fail? I only see gorgeousness! =))
ReplyDeleteeumh.. I'm sorry, but it is totally pretty :) I don't agree with you that this creation is a fail. It is really really nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you were disapponited with the result, being so different from what you expected, but imho it's really gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you guys, you are all too nice. Maybe it's just like Ere said, it's nothing like what I was expecting, so I was disappointed.
ReplyDeleteYep, I could see me wearing this, I like the green sparkles in the purple shift. Though I think what you were trying for would have been insanely hot too!
ReplyDeleteit's not as rainbowy as usual but still really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI tried adding some Spectraflair to my Borghese Stellare Notte duochrome which shifts from purple to green but it interfered with the colour morphing. I don't know what I did wrong?
ReplyDeleteJust like you it's a good thing I only used a 5ml bottle which I am rapidly running out of since I got my SF pigment. I have been like a mad scientist lately lol.
It is sort of reminiscent of the orly granite-y, holo particle-y, new polish I can't remember the name of. I kinda like it too.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how in the world this could be considered a fail! This is a gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteIt may not have the spectacular results you expected but it isn't bad by any means.
ReplyDeleteEpic Fail? this is blinking lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO NOT a fail. I am in love <3
ReplyDeletei kinda like it :D
ReplyDeleteThis is just great!!
ReplyDeleteI love this little wonder!
Um...definitely not a fail, maybe just not what you were hoping for?! It reminds me of a gunmetal grey, but with a bit more personality! I could definitely wear this one and smile :0)
ReplyDeleteLike many before me - I don't think this is a fail polish - just not what you were aiming for.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about your posts is that you share all your experiments - the good, the bad and the far from ugly :)
Are you guys looking at the same nails as me? You are all way too nice saying it's no nail fail, so thank you all.
