February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and in a bid to help raise awareness of ovarian cancer, Chemmart Pharmacies and Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA) are inviting Australians to paint their nails teal - the international colour of ovarian cancer.
To help Aussies show their support, Chemmart Pharmacies across Australia will be stocking a limited edition Designer Brands teal nail polish pack called 'Colour for a Cause'. The pack comes with two full sized polishes, a white and a teal and will retail for $6.99, with 100% of the proceeds going to OCA.
Selected Chemmart Pharmacies will also off in-store manis, were you can get your nails done for a gold coin donation, which will also go to the OCA.
First up, I have swatches of the two colours and then I have a nail art look I created with the set in support of Ovarian Cancer awareness.
Teal - a rich teal creme polish. Great formula and opaque in two coats.
White - a nice coverage white creme. Application was good and it was opaque in two thick coats.
Here is the nail art look I created. On my index and pinky fingers I did a gradient using both colours. On my ring finger I painted it teal and stamped in white using Messy Mansion plate MM29, on my thumb I reversed it and painted my nail white and stamped with the teal polish.
On my middle finger I did some freehand nail art and created the flower logo of Ovarian Cancer Australia, as it appears on the box. I create the different shades of teal by mixing a little bit of white with it for two shades.
Teal Ribbon Day is Wednesday 26 February, so I'll be wearing another look with these polishes on that day.
Colour for a Cause teal nail polish packs will be available in Chemmart Pharmacies from February 6, while stocks last.
Polishes provided for consideration.
I love your nail art :) Especially the ring finger!

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know how much this mani means to me. As an ovarian cancer survivor, it touches me a little closer to home. Also, my cousin passed away just before Christmas from it. I want to urge women to listen to their bodies...if something feels even a little off get it checked.
ReplyDeletePS. Since this is my first official comment I wanted you to know I love your blog. It's one of my two daily musts.
Thank you for your comment, and I couldn't agree more with what you have said.
