It's official, I have a new favourite collection of nail polishes. Here is part one of my swatches of the Layla Hologram Effect nail polishes. There are eight polishes in the collection and today I am showing the four palest shades.
First up let me say that these appear to have the same holographic pigment that is in the Nfu Oh holos, Gosh Holo and Makeup Store holos. That is to say they have a different finish to the more 'Spectraflair' appearing holos, like Ozotic, Glitter Gal, Ludurana and Hits. The spectraflair type ones seem more sparkely, whereas these other sort seem more metallic and rainbow like. Damn wish I knew what this pigment was, unfortunately all they have to put on the bottles is "Aluminum powder CI77000".
Jade Groove - very pale green. Lighter than Nfu Oh 66.
Mercury Twilight - Silver holo. Not sure yet where it fits in with my silver holo comparison.
Mermaid Spell - pale blue. Similar to Nfu Oh 65, but maybe a shade lighter.
Coral Glam - Nude holo (freaking awesome). Similar to Nfu Oh 62, but pinker.
Please let me know if you want to see any comparison photos.
Come back tomorow to see the other four colours, plus I'll tell you about where I got them and what my shopping experience was like. I'll also detail more about the formula on these. See you then :)
Wow!!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous!!
Awesome!
Thanks you. :D
DeleteWell I'm Italian so I obviously couldn't resist them. I got the two darker shades, black and teal/blue. I have yet to try them as I was waiting for some sunshine to come out!
ReplyDeleteThese are an awesome range from Italy, I couldn't resist them all them, but the two you got are amazing. You will love them when you get some sun.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. But I think at least one or two have to be on everyone's wish list.
DeleteHi there! I love your blog and wanted to share with you my findings from experimenting with Spectraflair in gel polish.
ReplyDeleteI added two tiny scoops of fine Spectraflair to a mostly clear (it has a bit of scattered halo glitter, like Northern Lights but less glittery) Star Nail Eco Gel gel polish and cured it between a Gelish base and topcoat. It cured perfectly and looks gorgeous. It does settle in the gel as if you were using a non suspension base, but that is often the case with clear gel polishes containing glitter and it just needs a good stir before using.
Thanks Brittney for sharing about the gel polishes. I know my mum is really interested in trying gel polish at home, I might pass her your email so she can learn what to do ;)
DeleteI love your blog! Thanks for all the swatches:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, you're welcome!!!
Deletearagahgahhhhhhh so gorgeous!! i MUST have coral glam!!
ReplyDeleteIKR. It's so office appropriate indoors in low light, then BAM holo explosion in the sun. I LOVE nude holos!
DeleteDo you know if these nail polishes are good for stamping like China Glaze holos?
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches, thank you :)
I'll try it out and let you know
DeleteHi! Faaaaabulous swatches - I've had my eye on these for weeks now. I can't wait to see Flash Black (I am such a sucker for charcoal holos). As far as comparisons, I've heard that Mercury Twilight's holo is even stronger (and a slightly whiter/less silver tone) than (old) Nfu-Oh 61, Gosh, etc., and even Chanel! I would love to see a comparison in that regard. And when the second round of darker colors come up, a comparison of, say, Hits Zeus and Flash Black! I will be waiting for Part 2 of your swatches with bated breath :D
ReplyDeleteI'll get onto some comparisons for you tomorrow, as long as the sun is shining.
DeleteThey are unbelievable!!!!! And looked amazing in your nails!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really want to get them!!!! Do you know if Layla´s virtual store delivers in Brazil?
Thanks!!!!
did you put on a clear top coat?
